COLAGE Youth speaks up at AB 43 Marriage Equality Bill rally in SF

Luke represented many kids and families when he spoke at a rally put on by Marriage Equality in SF on Sept. 18th. He told the crowd of LGBT couples, allies, tourists, members of PFLAG, and the press that equal rights to marriage are a human right, not just a special right for heterosexual couples. Well done, Luke! Follow this link to find out more about the rally. (You can see two COLAGErs in the background on the left!)

Here's a note from Marriage Equality:
The fight isn’t over! The Governor has until October 14th to act on the marriage equality bill. Based on our experience, we’re confident that the media will cover the story the day the Governor acts and that the community will want to be engaged as well. We propose working together again to hold another series of rallies statewide the day the Governor acts.

Currently, Marriage Equality has rallies planned on October 14th in San Francisco (5:30pm at Harvey Milk Plaza), Sacramento (5:30pm at the Sacramento Gay and Lesbian Center) and Mendocino (5:30pm at the Court House in Ukiah). If you would like to take the lead in organizing a community response in another location, please let us know the time and the place you propose so we can keep a list of statewide events and coordinate sending out a packet of materials, press releases and messaging materials. Email Pamela Brown, Marriage Equality Policy Director.

In the meantime, call the Governor's office today 916 445 2841 or FAX a note 916 445 4633 and ask him to be a hero and sign AB 43 into law!
