A New Home For Our Teen Meetings May 29 07

Hey Boston COLAGErs! We have AWESOME news.

We have booked a fantastic space for monthly teen gatherings from September '07 to June '08. Here are the dates:
9/14/07
10/12/07
11/9/07
12/14/07
3/14/08
4/11/08
5/9/08
6/13/08

We will meet from 6-8 pm on the second Friday of each month, starting on 9/14, at the Democracy Center in Harvard Square, Cambridge.

We do not have meetings in January or February because we'll be having our Bowl-A-Thon on January 26th.

The Democracy Center is easily accessible via the redline at Harvard Square, the 86, 66, and #1 bus. These meeting are for anyone age 11 and up.

Mark your calendars- see you there!

Please also save the date for September 30th - we are planning to do a fundraiser/family event in the afternoon. We'll keep you posted.

Pride Parade!! May 23 07

On Monday night Monica and I went to the marshal orientation for pride just like every year...but there was all kinds of new information this year. The parade is at noon on Saturday June 9th, and we want to march with all of you!

The route is different this year, so things won't work exactly the same way. We will be stagin in the South End on Tremont Street, and all marchers must be in place by 11 am.
We have a snazzy new read and white banner (no more hand-made paintings with cat paw-prints for us!) that you can look for in front of the Cyclorama near the round ticket kiosk/atm. The Cyclorama is one and the same as the BCA, and in the same space as Hammersley's Bistro and the Calderwood Pavillion. We'll be there by ten looking for your smiling faces!

The new route is about a half mile longer than before, and it has us going up Beacon Hill...so wear comfy shoes, pull little ones in wagons or piggy back them up the hill, and bring water and suncreen.

We will find out where in the parade we are the week of the parade, please remember that there is a chance we'll be near the end and that means we'll be out on the route for longer. Usually they place groups with children up front and every year we've been in the first third, but just in case, prepare for about 2 hours of marching.

See you at pride!
