EMILY B., 12, CLEVELAND, OH

Where do you live? Cleveland, Ohio

Tell us about your family: My family is me and my three moms:, Jaime, Sam and Mary Jo. Jaime and Sam live together. We have two cats, Symon and Cali. At my other mom's house there are four cats. I am an only child. My biological parents are Jaime and Mary Jo. They had me through donor insemination. I have a known donor. I feel like both of my houses are home.Emily B and family

What is your favorite hobby, sport or activity? My favorite hobby is definitely writing stories, but I also like acting them out with my friends. I play soccer and take karate lessons.

Do you participate in any COLAGE activities, events or programs? Which ones? Do you like them? Why? My moms Jaime and Sam run our local Colage Cleveland chapter. They started it last year. We've had picnics, movie and game nights. We sit around and talk. We do silly things like try and talk someone into doing a belly dance or throw pretzels at each other.

What is the hardest thing about having gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender parent/s? Honestly, no one at my school cares that I have three moms. They just ask how it's possible. Once they know they just say "okay" and they're done with it. One of my friends said she liked gays and lesbians better than straights.

What's the best thing about having gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender parent/s? The best thing is that I can talk about "girl stuff" with any one of my parents. You're still human no matter who you are.
