Your First Names and Last Initial: Our names are Sarah and Kate F-M.

Age: We are both 8 but Sarah is 46 seconds older than Kate. But Kate is 2 1/2 inches taller than Sarah.

Where do you live? We live in Houston, Texas.

Tell us about your family: We have 2 moms, a fish named Fatty Lumpkin, a rat named Kola, 2 dogs named Cody and Maya, and a lizard who we catch sometimes. We call him Al.

What are your favorite hobby, sport or activity? Sarah likes art, playing the piano, chess, using her microscope, and sports like softball and soccer. Kate likes reading, playing the guitar and piano, looking in her telescope, and softball.

Do you participate in any COLAGE activities, events or programs? Which ones? Do you like them? Why? We went to the COLAGE meetings and dance in Dallas in 2006, and Saugatuck Family Week in 2003. We loved it -- it was fun to meet new kids.

What is the hardest thing about having gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender parent/s? Sarah: I don't really find anything that hard. I haven't run into any problems like teasing or anything. Kate: Nothing. Sometimes my friends forget and they say Oh, you have two moms? I just say yes. And then they walk away (in a good way).

What's the best thing about having gay, lesbian, bisexual and/ortransgender parent/s? Sarah: The best thing about having two moms is being different but being able to be proud of it. And being able to be proud of who I am and my family. Kate: The best thing about having two moms is we're different.
