COLAGE Chicago

March 2007 Outing Mar 15 07

Chicago COLAGE March 2007 Outing

Date: March 24, 2007 (Date change)

Time: 1pm-3pm or as long as you and your family would like to remain!

Location: THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO, 111 South Michigan Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60606-6110 www.artic.edu

Cost: $12 for adults, $7 for teens 12 and up, free for those under age 12 (My suggestion is that each family go to the Chicago Public Library and get a free Great Kid Museum Passport to get four people from your group/family admitted free of charge to the Art Institute. That is what I plan to do, so I will have an extra spot on my pass. That way, you will only have to pay for downtown parking or public transportation.)

Meeting Place: On the steps at the entrance, by one of the Lions. I’ll bring a hot pink, COLAGE flyer for new families to spot the group. And if the weather is right, I’ll wear my COLAGE t-shirt.

Extras: This is a family event, so please bring the youngens as well. Parents, feel free to stay unless you’d prefer to drop them off and hang out downtown. J

Local Attractions: Everything! We are in the center of downtown, so the shopping and restaurant world is at your fingertips. The lake is less than four blocks east. Mag Mile is about six blocks north.

Information about the museum and the Great Kids Museum Passports: Recently ranked by Child magazine the #1 art museum in the country for kids, the Art Institute offers 5,000 years of artistic expression from all corners of the globe in its truly encyclopedic collection. View ancient Chinese bronzes and paintings by today’s leading artists; revel in Monet’s water lilies and the rich colors of the Renaissance. Great Kids Museum Passports are valid for general admission and for most special exhibitions from your local Chicago Public Library. Immediate family (maximum of 4) is permitted entry. For separately ticketed exhibitions, a maximum of 4 same-day tickets, based on availability, may be requested at your library’s Admission Desk using the Great Kids Museum Passport. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, March 20th at tinatfakhrid@aol.com so that we can have a fairly accurate headcount. Gracias!
