"As a child, I grew up in Fayetteville, Arkansas where we live now, but for a brief time, my family and I moved to Memphis, Tennessee. During Martin Luther King Jr's death, the rioting and the racial tension were pretty scary...my parents decided to move back home... We did and my sisters and I left many friends, never to know what happened to them. I was 9-years-old and my best friend who was also 9 and we never saw one another again. Last month, this friend, who I have not seen in 32 years, called me from Memphis where she still lives. She informed me she is a lesbian who has had 2 children through artificial insemination. She had forgotten my last name and then saw the documentary and remembered me!!! She looked up my number and called, filling me in on the last 32 years! It was amazing. She also enjoyed the documentary but she said that it concerned her. She is hoping for a little more normalcy when her children start school... I wasn't sure what to say to her but we talked for a very long time. I appreciate the Our House documentary and I'm really glad that me and my family were one of the families asked to do it. Thanks again....Sophia"

"My name is Danna, I was featured in the documentary "Our House." I was 14 when it was filmed about a year and a half ago. A lot has changed since then, and not just physically. For one, I am no longer Mormon. Being involved in the documentary was a truly awesome experience. It really made us think, because they asked a lot of questions I didn't normally think about, and talking about everything involving my gay father, helped everyone, including me, understand where I'm coming from. So many people have come up to me telling me how great I was in the documentary. While I sometimes don't like getting so much attention, it's great to think that I can affect so many people. I encourage everyone to just be honest and do everything you can to be open and help one another."
