Update Parentage Protections in Delaware
Delaware’s SB 250 advances the Queerspawn Agenda by supporting legal parent-child relationships for all families. This comprehensive bill would update Delaware law so that it aligns with the most recent version of the Uniform Parentage Act, which offers a modern, child-centered framework for legal security.
The first hearing for this legislation is taking place on Wednesday, March 25th @ 10am Eastern Time via Delaware’s Senate Health and Social Services Committee. COLAGErs are uniquely situated to speak to this important issue. Now is the time to share your support and urge Delaware senators to vote YES on SB 250!
In your oral or written testimony, you can share your lived experience including any steps your family had to take to protect parent-child relationships (e.g., completing a second-parent adoption). Please also share any challenges your family faced and how it impacted you. If you do not live in Delaware, please also share how you are connected to the state. Check out our guide on how to testify or adapt our sample testimony as your own. If you are willing, please also send a copy of your testimony to COLAGE’s Chief Legal and Policy Officer, Meg York, at meg@colage.org.
